Today’s hair tutorial is this elegant bun with braid detailing, inspired by the incredibly talented Emma Chen. I love how effortless and chic this hairstyle appears without being too girly. In this tutorial I show you how to use extensions to achieve that beautiful chunky braid, and break down how to easily achieve this hairstyle. For that effortless textured appearance I used my favourite Kerastase hairspray which gives just enough hold to create that volume at the crown. This is definitely my new go-to hairstyle for formal events, and I can’t wait to pair it with a chunky knit turtleneck for Fall.
Top (The sleeves are too cute)
Just over a week ago I attended a super fun event with Redken, and one of their stylists showed us how to create this easy messy up-do. I knew right away I had to recreate it because it’s one of those hairstyles that looks way more intricate and difficult than it actually is, which I know you guys love. It’s so effortless and quick that it would be perfect for work, but it’s also elegant and romantic enough that it would be great for a wedding, or formal event.
I hope you enjoyed me incorporating some footage from my everyday life. xo
One of my favourite things to do in the Summer is hiking, I go almost every single day and having a waterfall like Felker’s Falls in your backyard definitely helps. This waterfall is my hidden gem, because compared to others in the city (like Albion) it’s rarely crowded with people so you’re able to really relax and take in the scenery.
These photos are from this past weekend the weather was incredible and we had spent the morning with family, and then decided to make the most of the afternoon so we packed some snacks, and drinks, and hiked down to the bottom of the waterfall. There’s no designated path so please go ahead with caution, but it’s definitely worth it once you make it down. It was basically the perfect day, if I could spend every moment outside in nature I would haha.
I hope this post serves as a reminder that Summer is not over yet, make the most of what is left, and get outside and explore! I would love to know what you have planned.
I always love to create videos based off of what you guys want to see, and this past week there was an overwhelming amount of requests to share some back to school hairstyles. I was unsure about creating a back to school hair tutorial since I’m not heading to school this September, believe it or not I graduated College all the way back in 2010, I know it’s hard for me to believe too. I tried to remember how I felt in school and created hairstyles based off that. I loved to sleep in and was constantly late for class because of it, so I knew I wanted the hairstyles to be quick & easy.
If you’re heading back to school this year I would love to know what you’re studying and I wish you all good luck!
