I am so excited for todays video, I’m sharing 3 easy summer hairstyles for 2019 that are also perfect for prom, wedding and work. The first hairstyle is a 90s’ inspired easy French twist that is quick yet chic. The second, is a low braided bun that is simple yet classy. And finally, we have an effortless half up, half down hairstyle that is perfect for any summer occasion.
I love how easy yet beautiful each of these hairstyles are! Who would think they only take a few minutes to create. I wanted to share different looks that would work on most hair types as not everyone has long hair. I personally love the half up half down hairstyle and can’t wait to wear it to my next summer occasion.
Comment down below which hairstyle is your favourite, 1,2 or 3?
HOW TO ACHIEVE THESE 3 EASY SUMMER HAIRSTYLES
90s’ Inspired Hairstyle:
Step 1: Gather all of your hair and hold it at the base of your head in your right hand, and grab your ponytail with your left hand.
Step 2: Bring your ponytail up and over one of your fingers on your right hand.
Step 3: While still holding your ponytail with your left hand begin tightly twisting your finger on your right hand clockwise 2-3 times.
Step 4: Bring the twist upwards and hold in place.
Step 5: Secure the outside of your twist into place with some bobby pins (these are my favourite).
Simple Braided Bun
Step 1: Create a low ponytail where you would like the bun to sit.
Step 2: Begin tightly braiding your ponytail, feel free to create any braid you like.
Step 3: Secure the ends with a small hair elastic, and begin pinching and pulling on the outside of your braid to create fullness and detail.
Step 4: Grab your braid, fold it under itself and bring it up the right side of your ponytail creating a nice bun shape.
Step 5: Hold the bun with your left hand and begin wrapping the rest of your braid counter clockwise around your hair elastic and underneath your bun.
Step 6: Pin your ends out of the way first, and begin bobby pinning the outside of your braid to your head. Play around with the shape of your braid and fan it out for more detail.
Half up Half down Hairstyle
Step 1: I prepped my hair by curling it with my favourite T3 curling iron and the 1.25″ attachment.
Step 2: Section off all your hair above your temples.
Step 3: Section off both side sections and place them out of the way for now.
Step 4: With the remaining hair, secure it into a loose bun. Pinch and pull on small sections of the bun to create a more effortless appearance, and around your crown to create volume and detail.
Step 5: Take the extra hair from the left side, and bring it towards the back of your head while twisting it away from your face 2-3 times. Gently pull on the twist to loosen it up and give it that beautiful swoop detail.
Step 6: Bring your twist over the top of your bun to the right side and secure it underneath your bun with some bobby pins.
Step 7: Repeat on the right side, twisting away from your face 2-3 times and gently pulling on that twist. Cross it over your bun and bobby pin it underneath on the left side.
