I am so excited to share today’s hair tutorial, which is 3 easy hairstyles with French pins. These French pin hairstyles are perfect for anyone with medium – long hair, and the beauty of the hair pin makes these hairstyles perfect as a bridal, prom, or wedding guest hairstyle. The first hairstyle will always be a favourite of mine, a simple French twist hairstyle. The second, is a beautiful half-up half-down hairstyle and lastly, a cute and quick updo hairstyle. All of these hairstyles are secured with a French pin, but if you need added security, you can always add a few bobby pins, or French pins for added hold.

How To The French Twist Hairstyle With French Pin

  1. Gather all your hair and hold it in your right hand at the nape of your neck.
  2. Place your middle finger and index finger from your left hand to the right of your ponytail, pointing down.
  3. Wrap your ponytail to the right, around your fingers.
  4. Twist your fingers one full twist to the left as you bring them to the top of your head. Twisting one more time to help shorten your ends, and pushing against your head to hold it in place.
  5. Take the tips of your hair fork and insert them to the right of your fingers.
  6. Push the fork out through the right side of your twist, then against your head.
  7. Flip the fork to the right and slide it in to the left, locking the style in place.
  8. If you’d like, you can simply twist and tuck away your ends.

How To The Half Up Hairstyle With French Pin

  1. Place your thumbs in front of your ears and trace upwards to the crown of your head, completely sectioning off the top part of your hair from the rest.
  2. Place your middle and index fingers from your left hand to the right of your ponytail, pointing down, similar to the French twist.
  3. Wrap your ponytail to the right, around your fingers.
  4. Twist your fingers a half twist to the left as you bring them to the top of your head, pushing against your head to hold it in place.
  5. Take the tips of your hair fork and insert them through the right side of your twist, then against your head.
  6. Flip the fork to the right and slide it in, out the left side, securing the twist.

How To The Updo With French Pin

  1. Gather all your hair and hold it in your left hand at the nape of your neck, making sure your thumb is underneath your ponytail.
  2. Grab your ponytail with your right hand and wrap it down and around your thumb. This creates a bun shape.
  3. Wrap the ponytail counterclockwise over the base, forming the top of the bun.
  4. Continue wrapping your remaining ends around and under your bun.
  5. Take the tips of your hair fork and insert them to the right of your fingers.
  6. Push the fork out through the right side of your bun, then against your head.
  7. Flip the fork to the right and slide it in to the left, locking the bun in place.
