How to Recreate This Prom Updo Hair Tutorial

  1. Gather your hair into a low ponytail, smoothing with hair oil and a beard brush, and secure it.
  2. Hold the base of your ponytail with your left hand, and with your right hand begin twisting your ponytail to the left, sliding your hand down as you twist.
  3. Begin wrapping the twist counter-clockwise, but not too tight. You want the base of the ponytail to stay in place beneath your hand to form the bun shape.
  4. Once you’ve brought the twist around, take the ends, twist tightly and continue wrapping.
  5. Wrap your ends tightly under the bun, around your elastic.
  6. Hold the bun against your head, and secure it with french pins.
  7. Optionally, add pearl magnets for a beautiful detail.
